I actually hate to cook. And yet I am building a cooking blog. Go figure.
Cooking is more fun when you are digging up old recipes and trying new things with them. I have a collection of old (late 19th and early 20th century) cookbooks that I have found in various places over the years. Now that we have a farm some of the fresh ingredients I am cooking with don’t have readily available recipes in many modern cookbooks (pork lard, for instance) I have been turning back to these old books for guidance and inspiration.
It is fun, and I hope you will join me in rediscovering these treasures of the past.
